Millwrights/Mechanics - Vancouver Shipyards

Seaspan Shipyards is seeking Millwrights/Mechanics to join their team at Vancouver Shipyards. They are a long-term strategic shipbuilding partner for the Canadian Coast Guard and Royal Canadian Navy, rebuilding domestic shipbuilding industry and delivering on the promise of ships built in Canada. The shipyard is focused on construction of major projects like the largest Joint Support Ships (JSS) and Offshore Oceanographic Science Vessel (OOSV). The role offers long-term job stability and the opportunity to be part of a growing, dynamic shipbuilding team.

Requirements

• Millwright, Mechanic, or Heavy-Duty Mechanic Certificate of Qualification
• Interprovincial Red Seal Endorsement
• Recognized Equivalent Provincial Trades Qualification
• Recognized Equivalent International Trade Qualification
• 30 months Documented Mechanical Experience
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work in a construction environment with confined spaces and varying weather conditions
• Must be able to wear a respirator
