Job Description
The Operating Room (OR) Charge Nurse at Semmes Murphey Clinic will be responsible for providing patient services, staffing the OR, and ensuring efficient operations. This role involves performing duties similar to a circulating nurse and scrub nurse, including patient assessments, instrument preparation, and communication with surgical teams. They will also act as a mentor to the OR staff.
Requirements
- Nursing degree from an accredited school
- Two (2) years’ experience as a circulating nurse
- Current RN license in Tennessee
- BLS certification
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word), electronic medical records (EMR) and medical practice software
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to comprehend and interpret verbal orders
- Excellent organization skills
- Ability to think quickly and respond to problems
- High level of confidentiality
