Senior Echocardiographer

Sentara Rockingham Memorial Hospital is hiring a Senior Echocardiographer for the Cardiac service line non-invasive lab. The Senior Echocardiographer performs and analyzes advanced echocardiographic procedures, collaborates with physicians and the healthcare team, and mentors junior staff. The role requires maintaining up-to-date knowledge of echocardiographic techniques, equipment, and industry standards while adhering to safety protocols and ethical guidelines.

Requirements

• High School Diploma required with experience and certification required, Associate Degree preferred
• Graduate of an accredited echocardiography program (or equivalent education) in accordance with IAC Guidelines.
• Certification/Licensure: Candidates must have at least one of the four certifications (RDCS, RCCS, RCS, or ACS)
• BLS required
• 3 years of experience required
• adult 2D and 3D transthoracic and transesophageal echo, myocardial strain, contrast (DEFINITY), agitated saline (bubble study), exercise stress echo and dobutamine stress echo required
• Communication with patients and providers required
• provide accurate diagnostic information required
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of echocardiographic techniques, equipment, and industry standards required
