Directs a department or program responsible for delivering health care services to clients/individuals. Manages staff RNs and supervises the work of Licensed Practical Nurses. Implements, promotes, completes and evaluates all medically related services and supports.
Requirements
- Provides professional support and medically related guidance to employees, supervisors and office staff regarding medical policies and procedures.
- Assures the overall quality of services and supports of each person within the assigned area.
- Maintains a functional understanding of funding, managed care requirements, and licensing requirements for each person served.
- Supervises and trains staff nurses in ICF/MR, Waiver, licensure and AMAP rules and regulations.
- Maintains confidentiality of medical related records and adheres to state, federal and agency regulations.
- Assists in developing and implementing person-centered IPP and ensures medical IPP recommendations are based on accurate assessments.
- Monitors and implements infection control/safety procedures and complies with all Mentor, OSHA, workman's compensation and labor department standards.
- Provides crisis intervention as necessary and performs other related duties and activities as required.
