The Product Sales Support Specialist serves as a key liaison between Sales, Planning Analysts, Category Management, and external partners such as brokers and vendor representatives. This role is responsible for resolving customer-related inquiries, facilitating cross-functional communication, and supporting product-related processes to ensure operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- Act as the primary contact for Sales regarding supply-related inquiries.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain, Category Management, and external vendors to resolve product and supply issues.
- Communicate product-related information across internal departments and external contacts.
- Manage and resolve inquiries submitted through CRM technology, including product availability, pricing, specifications, and nutritional data.
- Collect and verify product specification data to support the creation of new product item codes.
- Daily and weekly communication to sales by e-mail, phone messages, flyers, etc… for the Specialty category.
- Constantly arranging and updating Specialty catalog for both DSRs and customers to utilize
- Work with DSRs daily on customer calls to help drive the Specialty category in case and sales growth
- Attend multiple District Sales Meetings per month
- Attend and participate in all General Sales Meetings
- Prospects and develops profitable new & lost business leads with input from DSRs, District Sales Managers and Regional Sales Managers
- Work with purchasing daily to ensure proper products are stocked at the right cost from the correct vendors.
- Track updates on progress and measure/evaluate performance
- Manage Specialty Vendors/Brokers/Manufacturers
- Source product from right vendors to help drive Specialty category
- Review lines to keep current with Specialty category industry trends
- Develop strategy to work with brokers and PLC committee to add and/or remove Specialty products
- Work with Vendors to ensure success at all EXPO’s and Regional Vendor Fairs
- Marketing
- Work with Shamrock Marketing Department to help drive POS and promotions of Specialty category
- Help coordinate all New Item launch for Specialty category
- Work with Marketing to help develop all marketing material pertaining to the Specialty category
- Work with Marketing to ensure proper and timely Catalog maintenance
