Product Specialist

This position is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with local farmers & suppliers, purchasing and selling their products to FreshPoint customers, and building a customer base with a focus on local produce.

Requirements

• Develop and execute targeted sales strategies
• Identify customer needs and assemble a product mix
• Communicate with sales and merchandising teams
• Coordinate with buyers to determine products to be grown by local farmers
• Work collaboratively with Food Safety team
• Manage new vendor onboarding
• Manage local reporting
• Connect with contract customers
• Be informed of market conditions and share information with customers
• Track activities and results
• Leverage sampling to close sales
• Provide feedback on product quality and customer satisfaction
• Develop and maintain relationships with customers, chefs, and sales team members
• Support execution of prioritized sales strategies
• Utilize data analytics to prioritize produce opportunities
