The Associate Proposal Manager role is an entry-level position that assists with the bid submission process from initial contact through contract signing. The role requires strong analytical and communication skills, as well as experience in the US Department of Defense, US Military, or Aerospace & Defense industry. The ideal candidate will have a B.A. (or equivalent degree) and 2+ years of business experience, including 1-2 years of proposal experience.
Requirements
- Monitor government acquisition databases to identify upcoming pursuits and opportunities
- Use third-party tools to conduct targeted searches across federal, state, and local acquisition systems
- Conduct keyword searches and refine datasets to identify contracts that align with company capabilities, past performance, and goals
- Keep our key word database up to date with new key words targeted at new and emerging markets and customers
- Track changes in solicitations, including amendments, updates, and Q&A releases, to ensure bid responses remain compliant and aligned with government requirements
- Establish and maintain databases of active, forecasted, and expiring contracts to enable proactive business development decisions
- Lead efforts to collect, assess, and analyze open-source intelligence regarding competitor strengths, weaknesses, key pursuits, recent contract wins, and industry news to inform capture strategies
- Analyze economic trends, legislative changes, and shifts in government funding priorities that may impact competitors’ market positioning or strategy
- Update the internal tracker to ensure the list of opportunities being pursued remains up to date and aligned with status changes throughout the opportunity lifecycle
- Host bi-weekly meetings to get updates from the Business Development and Strategy team on the status of active pursuits
