Senior Legal Counsel

SiteMinder is looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to partner with the Tech, Product, Data/AI, and Security functions to support a proactive approach to managing legal and regulatory risk. The role will involve providing commercially focused advice on technology-related matters, drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, and contributing to the development of governance frameworks.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Laws (or equivalent) and a current practicing certificate
• At least ten years of experience in top-tier practice or in-house tech or data sector experience
• Extensive experience advising on data governance and commercialisation, IT and commercial transactions, with at least four years of experience on cyber law
• Strong understanding of GDPR, Australian privacy law, and global governance and AI regulatory frameworks
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to interact with all levels of the organization from the most senior to most junior
• Passion for technology, data, and SaaS businesses with a passion for innovation and emerging digital technology
