2026 SMASH Academy - Financial Literacy Facilitator (Northeastern)

SMASH is a non-profit organization that aims to build a strong STEM workforce through academic learning and experiential engagement for high school and college students. The Financial Literacy Facilitator will lead interactive, age-appropriate financial education sessions for high school students, equipping them with the financial knowledge, confidence, and practical tools they need to make informed decisions about money.

Requirements

• Previous experience in teaching, facilitation, mentoring, or working with youth (preferably high school age)
• Strong public speaking and communication skills
• Basic understanding of personal finance principles (training and curriculum will be provided)
• Dependability, professionalism, and a strong sense of initiative
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in education, finance, social work, youth development, or a related field
• Demonstrated experience and success co-facilitating workshops with 15-25 participants (preferably at high school level)
• Ability to foster open dialogue, encourage critical thinking, and adapt lessons to meet students where they are
