SMASH is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization operating under the umbrella of the Kapor Center family of organizations. We aim to build a strong STEM workforce through academic learning and experiential engagement for high school and college students. We empower dedicated students in STEM fields through intensive education, rigorous coursework, and access to resources, aiming to cultivate success in college and careers.
Requirements
- Must be available for all training and program dates
- Must be able to live on campus full time with evening and weekend work requirements
- Must have a personal computer (desktop or laptop) with a working webcam, speaker, and microphone for video conferencing capabilities
- Must have a reliable Internet connection (at least 25 Mbps download speed)
- Must have quiet work space for virtual programming
- Must be able to form positive and professional relationships with ethnically and culturally diverse youth and staff
- Must have high competency in written and verbal communication skills
- Must have demonstrated experience in leadership, teamwork, decision-making, and working with diverse groups of individuals
- Must be willing to be hands-on, conflict resolution oriented, and an active problem solver as challenges arise
