Job Description
The Director of Nursing oversees faculty and student success in the nursing program, ensuring the Program is educationally and administratively sound. The DON provides academic leadership, operational oversight, and strategic direction to ensure the highest standards of nursing education are maintained.
Requirements
- Meet BVNPT requirements and approval for Director position
- Master's or higher degree from an accredited college or university
- One (1) years' experience as an administrator with validated performance of administrative responsibilities
- Two (2) years' experience teaching in pre- or post-licensure registered nursing programs
- One (1) years’ continuous, full-time or its equivalent experience direct patient care as a registered nurse
- Current California registered nurse license in good standing or multi-state privilege to practice in California
- Strong leadership and motivation skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Embracing the use of technology in education
- Sound knowledge and understanding of professional career paths and demands of employers in the field(s) in which they teach
- Strong technical skills including all computer applications, internet research, database management, and analytical skills
- Experience with Canvas or related LMS usage for instruction
