Requirements
- Lead the formulation and analysis of complex, real-world decision problems using data, statistics, and machine learning.
- Design, develop, and validate statistical and machine-learning models to support large-scale decision-making and policy design.
- Formulate real-world problems using probabilistic modeling, optimization, and causal inference.
- Partner with product, pricing, operations, and business teams to translate strategic questions into clear analytical and modeling frameworks.
- Design and analyze experiments (A/B tests, quasi-experiments, uplift and response modeling) to measure the impact of decisions and policy changes.
- Develop interpretable models and analytical insights that explain mechanisms and trade-offs.
- Collaborate with data and ML engineers to ensure models are production-ready.
- Act as a subject-matter expert in statistics and machine learning, reviewing analytical approaches and challenging weak or unjustified assumptions.
- Define and monitor metrics that reflect system health, user experience, and long-term marketplace stability.
- Communicate results and recommendations through clear, structured narratives suitable for non-technical stakeholders.
- Mentor junior data scientists on statistical reasoning, modeling discipline, and experimental design.
