Intermediate Mechanical Designer

CANDU Energy Inc./ AtkinsRéalis Nuclear Inc. is seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Designer to support engineering roles for nuclear projects in major areas, such as new build in the province of Ontario, international new builds, refurbishment, and continuous plant operation support modifications for nuclear power plants.

Requirements

• College diploma or equivalent work experience with a minimum of 5 years in mechanical design and drafting
• Experience supporting field teams through site visits and inspections, ensuring alignment with design requirements
• Experience drafting site layouts and construction drawings for industrial sites, buildings and structures is required
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Plant 3D is a must
• Good to have Smart Plant 3D/Smart, Micro Station, Navisworks Manage and SolidWorks
• Ability to take marked up engineering drawings and incorporates changes into AutoCAD files
• ASME Code knowledge considered an asset
• Proficient in equipment and piping modeling, Ability to interpret Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) for accurate design implementation
• 3D piping model development and skilled in model review and clash resolution, coordinating with structural, mechanical, and electrical teams to resolve issues in congested areas
