The Human Resources Manager - Canada provides strategic and hands-on HR leadership across the Canadian operations, serving as a trusted advisor to business and site leaders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or a related field
- Professional HR designation (e.g., CHRP, CHRL, or CPHR) strongly preferred
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years in a unionized environment
- Strong understanding of HR business partnership, organizational effectiveness, and workforce planning
- Advanced knowledge of Canadian labour and employment legislation, employment standards, and unionized workplace practices
- Proven experience supporting collective bargaining, grievance management, and contract administration
- Demonstrated ability to coach and advise leaders on employee relations, labour relations, performance management, and career development
- Proven experience managing and developing HR or cross-functional teams, including setting goals, coaching, and performance management
- Excellent communication, influencing, and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility at all levels
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems; Dayforce experience preferred
- High degree of discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive and confidential information
- Flexible and adaptable, capable of managing both strategic priorities and hands-on operational work
- Willingness to travel within Canada (up to 25%) and work flexible hours during negotiations or peak activity periods
