Sound Transit is seeking a Manager - Vehicle Maintenance to oversee the maintenance of light rail vehicles and maintenance of way departments and structures. The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electronics/Electrical Maintenance, or a closely related field, and at least five years of experience managing and supervising maintenance operations of heavy or light rail systems. The role involves planning, directing, and reviewing the work of assigned staff, assigning work activities and coordinating schedules, projects, and programs, and providing constructive feedback and evaluation. The Manager will also be responsible for developing, maintaining, and overseeing the maintenance contractor's budget, overseeing and approving maintenance training, conducting daily and weekly meetings with maintenance managers, superintendents, contracts and procurement, and various operational engineering interests, and providing ongoing technical assistance and troubleshooting services to the fleet and right-of-way maintenance crews. The successful candidate will also be responsible for modeling Sound Transit's core values and demonstrating values-based behaviors in everyday interactions across the agency, and contributing to a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion in alignment with Sound Transit's Equity & Inclusion Policy.
