Job Description
Sound Transit is seeking a Senior Design Manager to lead the delivery of civil engineering elements of major light rail corridor projects, heavy passenger rail projects, or bus projects within the Capital Delivery Department. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field and at least five years of civil engineering/architectural design and construction experience, including experience with project and contracts management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field
- Five years of civil engineering/architectural design and construction experience
- Professional Civil Engineer license or Professional Architect license issued by the State of Washington
- Advanced understanding of principles and practices of civil engineering
- Strong knowledge of application of Federal, State, and local policies, laws and codes and regulations
- Advanced knowledge of principles of project management
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong public speaking skills
- Supervisory and team leadership skills
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate effective time management skills
- Ability to effectively manage, prioritize, and delegate workload among assigned resources
