Spire is seeking an Apprentice Service Mechanic in Anniston, AL for the AL Service Department. The position will be responsible for recognizing and responding to potentially hazardous conditions in a manner consistent with company procedures and perform maintenance and repairs on gas equipment.
Requirements
- Must pass a mechanic test administered by the training department prior to receiving the job offer.
- Must complete a 13 month not to exceed 24-month apprentice training program.
- Read, understand and complete required documentation associated with the completion of customer service requests and related activity.
- Read, understand and apply all materials, including manufacturer specifications, applicable codes, etc., in the performance of job junctions.
- Communicate with customers, employees, and supervisors, responding to inquiries resulting in mutual understanding.
- Observe, recognize and repair improper and potentially hazardous conditions in working on or around Company distribution facilities, customer appliances, or fuel line installations, consistent with Company procedures in the course of the performance of all assigned job duties.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on gas equipment for extended periods of time in adverse conditions such as extreme cold, heat, rain, etc
- Recognize and respond to potentially hazardous conditions in a manner consistent with Company procedures in the course of performing all assigned job duties.
- Utilize proper personal protective equipment in accordance with Company policy and regulatory requirements while performing assigned job duties.
- Ability to operate various sizes of motor vehicles in the performance of the job duties assigned to this position.
- Ability to work as part of a team and display a positive attitude in this dynamic environment.
