DevOps SRE - Senior or Lead (Remote Eligible)

Southwest Power Pool is seeking a DevOps SRE to lead the reliability and operational strategy. The ideal candidate will have experience with highly available systems, SaaS cloud-based infrastructure, and infrastructure/configuration-as-code tooling. The role involves designing and leading implementation of large-scale infrastructure solutions, serving as a technical escalation point for complex incidents, and mentoring team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• 8+ years of experience building highly available systems and supporting SaaS cloud-based infrastructure (Lead position)
• 6 years of experience building highly available systems and supporting SaaS cloud-based infrastructure (Senior position)
• Experience with terraform, Docker, Kubernetes or other Infrastructure/Configuration-as-code tooling
• Expert knowledge of Unix/Linux systems
• Experience using at least one scripting language such as Python, bash, PowerShell or similar
• Experience deploying to cloud-based technology (AWS)
• Experience with continuous integration (CI/CD) and automated build tools
• Ability to tackle problems both at large scale and the small scale
• Good understanding of application/infrastructure security
• Excellent communication skills
