Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
Requirements
- Uses standards of medical-surgical nursing practice to increase the quality of care and quality of life for the patient, family, and significant other(s)
- Establishes effective relationships and serves as an advocate with the patient, family, and significant other(s) to facilitate the development of the care plan unique to the patient’s care needs
- Develops and implements the plan of care, collects assessment data for each patient, determines appropriate nursing diagnoses, identifies expected patient outcomes, determines the plan of care, implements interventions, and evaluates patient outcomes
