We're looking for an experienced Product owner / UAT Manager to support the delivery of the Cash change agenda at Standard Chartered, with a focus on driving the implementation of Tech Simplification program, having subject matter expertise knowledge on cash system and applications and other Change initiatives across Cash Operations.
Requirements
- Awareness and understanding of the Cash business strategy and Cash Operations strategic roadmap.
- Role model a strong, collaborative relationship between Cash delivery teams (whether in country or across functions/geographies) and maintain strong lines of communication across our Cash footprint through an effective communication process.
- Domain knowledge of cash as a product offering in Financial Institutions and product role as a pan-bank utility
- Well versed in product processes, key regulations and guidelines, as well as segment wise variations
- Support standardization of operational processes.
- Track market and business developments from peer banks and fintech industry and identify opportunities.
- Drive and lead continual experimentation within in respective locations to deliver outcomes that align to the strategy and product backlog.
- Employ business process design methodologies and tools to achieve right outcomes in terms of effort, risk and costs of change.
- Understand user stories, prepare comprehensive test suites, review robustness of test framework.
- Should have the ability to develop strong regression test suites across functional applications.
- Should come up with project plan, run plan, metrics and measurement on defect and defect management.
- Identify the risk in the process, escalate ina timely manner for mitigation of risk during the project / UAT life cycle.
- Interacting with the technical teams and the country operations stakeholders and users to ensure that the requirements are clear and well understood.
- Determine and develop user requirements (including writing user stories) for systems / platforms in production, to ensure maximum usability – and help coordinate UAT on any release
- Help design, document and maintain system processes both for new systems / platforms, and enhancements required to existing solutions
- Turn business requirements into user DOIs (Operating Instructions) ahead of implementation.

- Gather requirements from various sources, for example, product, operations and technology teams, existing documents and artefacts, existing applications or external sources
- Review the business case and associated content for quality
- Analyse and refine requirements to allow for standardized operating model, and align to global application system framework
- Manage requirement lifecycle from ideation to delivery, including documentation, traceability, baselining existing and future capabilities
- Surface potential blockers and impediments on change deliveries
- Ensure requirements are consistent, complete, required and testable
- Able to interpret other strategic project requirements, and able to articulate impact to local processes
- Ensure standard documentation, communication, capability updates are completed for changes
- Own, prepare and communicate standard process documentation, for example, Department Operating Instruction or Process Notes, requirement document, process registers and process maps
- Communicate to stakeholders on changes and coordinate generic communications and acknowledgements where required
- Support a change in mindset, building a culture of client centricity, improvement habit, agility, and accountability through standardised metrics and measurement, with the expectation that everyone in Operations are drivers and owners of client outcomes
- Self-start continuous learning initiatives that will help in the role and identify learning initiatives for future roles.
- Develop strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills, an analytical mindset, and is detailed oriented
- Adhere to the Bank’s risk framework and related policies and standards.
- Ensure that material risks that are brought to stakeholders’ attention which affect business processes and critical systems and projects are monitored, managed (to minimise loss and risk), and escalated accordingly.
- Build in risk control as part of design principles for system enhancements and automated flows.
- Aware of operational risks and identify required process controls for Cash Management, removing dependency on non-standard processes and EUCs
- Responsible for ensuring changes to process are adequately reviewed and captured in existing artefacts
