Job Description
Stantec is seeking temporary/on-call Archaeological Field Technicians to assist with several projects in the Mid-Atlantic region, primarily in Maryland and Virginia, with potential for work in surrounding states. The role involves archaeological surveys, data collection, artifact identification, and site preparation. It requires extensive travel and is project-based, with potential for recurring work.
Requirements
- Assist in archaeological field surveys using various methodologies.
- Record and evaluate soil samples using color and texture.
- Experience with digital data collection via ArcGIS field maps.
- Assist with site setting up, mapping, and excavation units.
- Identify and document artifacts and cultural features.
- Clean and prepare site surfaces for analysis.
