Software Systems Engineer

Role Overview

The Software Systems Engineer supports the planning, development, integration, and verification of complex software-intensive systems within a defense acquisition environment. This role interfaces with government PMOs, contractors, and cross-functional engineering teams to ensure software solutions meet performance, safety, and airworthiness requirements.

What You Will Do

Support planning, development, integration, and sustainment of complex software systems, Collaborate with government PMOs, defense contractors, and internal engineering teams, Review software requirements, architectures, and technical artifacts for compliance and traceability, Support software verification, validation, and airworthiness activities, Review integration and test plans, procedures, and results, Participate in Agile development activities and support DevSecOps practices, Contribute to system-level risk identification and mitigation

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, systems engineering, or a related field
• Active secret clearance
• Experience supporting software systems in a defense acquisition environment
• Knowledge of software V&V, requirements traceability, and verification processes
• Familiarity with software safety and airworthiness standards (e.g., DO-178C, DO-254)
• Experience supporting software integration and test in complex systems
• Working knowledge of Agile software development methodologies
