This is a professional Health Education Consultant position in the field of Public Health working with the Family and Personal Health Healthy Start Program at the Collier County Health Department. The position requires planning, implementing, and evaluating health promotion and Public Health Education programs for at risk pregnant women and infants. The position reports to the Health Services Manager A-SES and is responsible for implementing the Healthy Start Program to families referred and enrolled in Healthy Start.
Requirements
- Minimum of four-year college degree in one of the following areas: Social sciences, A health-related field such as nursing, health education, health planning, or health care administration, Social work
- Two years of college with three years of public health/maternal-child health experience
- Knowledge of Maternal/child health
- Skilled in-Home visiting experience, preferably Healthy Start
- Skilled with Health Management System (HMS)
- Ability to deliver health education services
- Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments independently
- Ability to communicate effectively, clearly, and concisely through oral and written means
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
- Ability to understand apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures
- Ability to work independently and be Self-motivated
- Ability to develop and maintain written documentation
- Knowledge of the target population
- Knowledge of and sensitivity to cultural and linguistic competence
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to demonstrate exceptional customer service skills
- Willingness to accept training and supervision
- Knowledge of preconception health objectives and Healthy Start Standards and Guidelines
