HEALTH EDUCATOR CONSULTANT - 64086454

The employee will provide evidence-based curriculum to Marion County residents on nutrition, physical activity, and diabetes. The employee will also plan and coordinate healthy decision-making community efforts, including developing partnerships, programs and initiatives geared toward meeting the needs of Marion County individuals to maximize their health and wellness.

Requirements

• Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of community health education
• Knowledge of basic public health marketing principles
• Skills in operating a personal computer
• Ability to develop and deliver health education and community development services to others
• Ability to communicate effectively - oral and written
• Ability to utilize Microsoft Office programs, including Work, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Publisher
• Ability to design and produce health promotion and public health educational materials
• Ability to plan, organize, prioritize and coordinate work assignments
• Ability to maintain accurate records
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with community partners and others
• Ability to operate audiovisual equipment
• Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures
• Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing 30 lbs. or more – unassisted
