HEALTH SUPPORT SPECIALIST - 64004445

Health Support Specialist responsible for performing clinical and housekeeping support, clerical functions, and accurate interpretation of English and Spanish (and Creole if capable) for WIC Clinic staff and patients. The position requires the ability to determine initial and continuing eligibility of applicants participating in the WIC program, interview clients to accurately determine financial and categorical eligibility, and completes required trainings in a timely manner.

Requirements

• Bilingual (English/Spanish and/or Creole)
• Ability to communicate effectively with others in writing and verbally
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services
• Ability to interview clients and obtain medical history
• Skill in accurately interpreting English/Spanish (and Creole if capable)
• HIPAA and confidentiality standards regarding client records and personal information
• Quality Improvement (QI) concepts, documentation, and workflow processes
