The Illinois Department of Transportation is seeking a Survey Crew Chief to supervise technical personnel and obtain accurate survey measurements for road, bridge, and culvert plans. The position involves leading a team and performing various tasks such as maintaining and repairing survey instruments and equipment, directing staff, and researching records and plans.
Requirements
- Current registration as a licensed Professional Land Surveyor in Illinois
- Four years of experience in the practice of land surveying
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Access
- Ability to maintain harmonious relationships with employees, agency officials, and the general public
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Districtwide travel
- Successful completion of a background screening
