The Oregon Judicial Department is seeking a Release Assistance Officer/Criminal Floater to work in the Polk County Circuit Court in Dallas, Oregon. The successful candidate will interview defendants in custody, determine their eligibility for court-appointed attorneys, and gather information to determine defendants' eligibility for release. The role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The position is full-time, with a salary range of $5,254 - $8,152 per year.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, behavioral or social/human services, or a closely related field
- Four years of experience in criminal justice or a court environment
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to four years of experience
- Law Enforcement Data Systems (LEDS) certification or ability to obtain certification within six months of hire
- Experience conducting interviews to obtain personal and/or financial information
- Experience communicating effectively, orally and in writing, with people in emotionally charged and stressful situations
- Experience using a personal computer to access and input information and complete various tasks
- Experience working in a court system, criminal justice, corrections, or other legal environment
