Stevenson School seeks a Science Teacher, Grades 9 - 12 to start July 2026. The ideal candidate will have the ability to teach a range of science courses, strong content expertise and a demonstrated capacity to use a variety of pedagogical approaches to support diverse learning styles and abilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in science, education, or related; advanced degree preferred
- Strong content knowledge and pedagogical expertise
- Minimum of 3-years of previous secondary-level teaching experience
- Department Head candidates: minimum of 5 years of teaching experience and/or demonstrated leadership experience
- Ability to maintain clear, well-organized course materials and provide timely feedback that supports student learning
- Demonstrated facility with instructional technology, including the effective use of a learning management system (e.g., Canvas), to communicate expectations, organize course content, and support student learning
- Ability to contribute significantly to an established area of co-curricular life, such as coaching, providing after-school theater assistance, or supporting student clubs and affinity groups
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively with students, colleagues, and families
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional integrity in all aspects of school life
