The Crisis Counselor provides mental health services, including brief individual and group counseling, mental health assessment and referral services, and crisis intervention to students. The counselor works to provide support for students' academic success and retention, and serves as a resource to faculty and staff on mental health and wellness issues.
Requirements
- Master's degree from an accredited institution in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy, or marriage, family and child counseling, or equivalent.
- Valid license in the state of New York as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), and/or Licensed Clinical Psychologist.
- Two years minimum recent experience as a licensed mental health provider.
