Job Description
The Senior Director - Corporate Counsel is responsible for analyzing, managing and advising on legal matters of the organization, providing legal support to the Company’s operations and development teams.
Requirements
- Juris Doctorate
- Pass the bar exam and maintain an active license to practice law in a jurisdiction in the United States
- At least 3 years of legal experience gained through either a major law firm or in-house experience or a combination of both
- Solid healthcare experience, including hospital/healthcare business operations and contracting
- Executive leadership and ability to see and handle more than the “legal” issues of a project
- Strong pragmatic business acumen with the ability to recognize the business consequences of legal advice
- Strategic and innovative thinker who can develop and articulate a clear understanding of the organization’s strategy from all perspectives and find creative solutions to complex legal problems
- Experience with compliance-related issues and demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and enforce compliance and legal policies and procedures
- Proven track record of strong negotiation, communication, organizational and people management skills and the ability to influence and build relationships without direct authority
- Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, problem solving and decision making
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Skill in developing and maintaining effective relationships with management, staff, physicians and banking personnel
- Skill in developing effective divisional policies and procedures
