The Field Application Materials Engineer analyzes customer insights and competition to provide technical expertise for pre and post-sale activities. Responsibilities include early engagement with customers, identifying current and future customer needs, and coordinating technical deliverables.
Requirements
- Early engagement with customers and channel partners through a consultative selling mindset
- Strong application knowledge to identify current and future customer needs
- Coordinate technical deliverables, recommend products/solutions for new & existing applications
- Collect VOC and specify customer application and specification needs
- Support product qualifications, ensure product samples, supporting design, and verification activities
- Understand the market and leading customers' technology, strategic direction, trends and unmet needs
- Publish thought leadership articles and papers online/off-line
- Active participation in Tech-Days, Industry events and member of standard setting governing bodies
- Provide technical marketing support to new product launch and introduction, ensuring high quality content
- Drive customer issue resolution, Determine best course of action to solve technical problems
- Support New Market growth discussions to support market entry into new applications
- Relay attractive M&A/partnership options back to strategy teams
