Charge Nurse PCU Full Time Nights

This role is responsible for providing guidance and support to staff, maintaining a safe environment, ensuring patient throughput, and directing nursing staff. The charge nurse provides direct clinical patient care, assesses, plans, implements direct clinical care to assigned patients on a per shift basis, and unit level.

Requirements

• Oversees patient admissions, transfers and discharges
• Mentors and trains new staff
• Provides support and guidance to all staff members
• Monitors medical charts and administers compassionate care and assistance to patients and families
• Communicates any protocol changes to staff
• Ensures compliance with all health and safety regulations
• Maintains accurate reports
• Administers medications safely and in a timely manner per hospital policy
• Performs and fulfills all HICS responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed and needed by the facility in times of emergency and/or disaster
