The Pharmacist provides pharmaceutical care services to patients, overseeing medication therapy, preparation, and dispensing, while ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and local laws and regulations. Responsibilities include reviewing patient medication therapy, ordering verification, preparing and dispensing medications, and providing education to patients and healthcare professionals.
Requirements
- Review and monitor patient's medication therapy and orders written for safety and efficacy
- Advise patient care team on patient's medication therapy and document such interventions
- Prepare, label, and dispense medications for patients in accordance with licensed independent practitioner
- Maintain relationships with medical and nursing staff; provide timely information pertaining to pharmaceutical supplies
- Participate in the education and training of healthcare professionals in relation to medication use
- Maintain professional competence with pharmacy department and state licensing requirements
- Provides on-call coverage as assigned
- Acts under the supervision of facility DEA registrant or facility physician lead
