Pharmacist

Pharmacist provides services to medical, nursing and pharmacy staff, compounds, labels and packages medications, and educates on use of various medications. Ensures secure storage of narcotics and other controlled substances and participates in QA review.

Requirements

• Compounding, labeling, and packaging medications
• Consulting with medical staff on drug utilization
• Ensuring secure storage of narcotics and other controlled substances
• Monitoring for contraindications, incompatibilities, allergies, and dosage errors
• Performing clinical and dispensing activities safely and correctly
• Educating patients on medication use
• Supervising ancillary personnel
• Conducting Drug Utilization Reviews
• Participating in QA review
• Preparing clinical in-services
• Dispensing medications and controlling medication administration and drug distribution
• Acting as liaison with nursing and medical staff
• Providing patient education and counseling
• Checking stock and reordering outdated stock
