Polysomnographic Tech II

Performs and evaluates overnight polysomnograms, operates equipment to record sleep/wake physiology, applies recording devices to patients, and provides orientation and instruction to staff.

Requirements

• Performs overnight testing procedures as assigned
• Interviews patients to assess current medications, recent caffeine or alcohol ingestion, and sleep pattern
• Communicates with personnel to clarify unclear or inappropriate orders
• Applies EEG, EKG, EMG, or EOG monitoring electrodes
• Performs record review/scoring of polysomnograms
