Laboratory Assistant

Requirements

• Prioritize incoming specimens and process patient specimens in accordance with department safety and OSHA guidelines
• Draw blood samples from patients based on physicians' orders and in accordance with departmental safety and OSHA guidelines
• Accurately enter and review laboratory test data in the laboratory computer system
• Communicate with patients to explain procedures and/or answer routine questions from physicians, nurses, or other healthcare professionals
• Maintain a neat and clean work area, stock storage area with supplies, and inventory as necessary
