The Texas Department of Transportation is seeking a Transportation Design Engineer to join the Dallas County design team in a project manager role. The candidate will be responsible for designing, managing, and coordinating plan designs for construction projects involving the construction, maintenance, and repair of highways, bridges, and transportation infrastructure in Dallas County.
Requirements
- Coordinates and/or monitors assigned projects/programs/plans
- Develops and/or reviews engineering related documents, correspondence, reports and remediation plans
- Develops and/or reviews environmental documents and prepares remediation plans
- Performs and/or coordinates the review and processing of Plans, Specifications & Estimates (PS&E) submission, special specifications or special provisions
- Performs data collection, analyses, forecasts and plan development
- Performs engineering design work such as development of layouts, sketches, plans, specifications, estimates and contracts
- Performs pavement designs and makes recommendations
- Reviews designs and detailed drawings of bridges and related structures prepared by other engineers and technicians
- Reviews, processes and certifies project design plans developed by consulting engineers
- Writes/reviews proposals and estimates for letting
- Performs other job responsibilities as assigned
