The Major Down Service Technician performs maintenance and repairs complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools.
Requirements
- Knowledge of dirt engaging equipment, aerial, and lifting equipment
- Advanced diesel and gasoline engine diagnosis and repair
- Advanced electrical system diagnosis and repair to include knowledge and use of schematics
- Advanced hydraulic system diagnosis and repair to include knowledge and use of schematics
- Advanced A/C system diagnosis and repair
- The ability to utilize all available diagnostic troubleshooting and scan tools to root out cause of failure
- High level experience with flashing and updating ECM software and configurations
- The ability to remove, install, adjust and rebuild heavy equipment machine components to include engines, pumps, hyd. motors, controllers, valves, track assemblies etc.
- Advanced experience with failure analysis on machine components
- Advanced quality control analysis skills - Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance and communicate findings
- Ability to operate a forklift and an overhead crane
- The ability to read, write, and understand information
- The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
- The ability to teach and mentor junior technicians
