TVC - Health Care Advocate (Veterans Services Representative I)

The Texas Veterans Commission is hiring a Health Care Advocate (Veterans Services Representative I) to act as a liaison between veterans and the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs to resolve access issues involving VA health care related services.

Requirements

• Interviews veterans and their dependents to provide services, counseling, and assistance in obtaining VA health care benefits
• Reviews supporting information for complaints and develops plans for resolution
• Consults with TVC staff, VA Patient Advocates, and medical staff to gather evidence and resolve issues
• Understands and applies VA rules and regulations
• Navigates the VA Health Care System and understands medical terminology
