Job Description
The Texas Workforce Commission is seeking an Orientation and Mobility Instructor to join the VRD Panhandle Regional Office. The position involves providing educational and training programs for blind or visually impaired students, assisting customers in developing independent living and employment objectives, and providing consultative services to team members.
Requirements
- Certification by the Academy for Certification of Vision Rehabilitation & Education (with COMS)
- Certification by the National Blindness Professional Certification Board (with NOMC)
- Bachelor's degree in Orientation and Mobility from an accredited four-year college or university
- 1-3 years of full-time experience as an Orientation and Mobility Instructor
- Ability to lift/carry 10 pounds
- Flexibility to work variable hours and up to 75% travel within the state of Texas
