The Texas Workforce Commission is seeking a Developer Team Lead to join the Information Technology (IT) Applications Development and Maintenance (ADM) Department. The Programmer VI performs highly advanced and/or managerial computer programming work, overseeing the planning, scheduling, and assigning of programming projects, analyzing proposed computer applications, and providing technical programming assistance.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in computer science or related field
- At least four (4) years of senior-level experience in computer programming plus two (2) years of experience overseeing the work of others in a mainframe environment
- Knowledge of computer programming languages COBOL, JAVA, and/or Natural
- Experience supporting the TWC Unemployment Insurance application
- Demonstrated skills using software/systems development methodologies such as waterfall, iterative, and/or agile sprints
- Problem-solving, critical thinking, building quality into code, planning and organizing work, meeting due dates
- Skill in project and resource management
- Ability to analyze problems, develop solutions, communicate clearly and communicate effectively with technical colleagues and non-technical customers
