Job description
As a Platform Engineer, you will build hardened admin terminals and virtualized environments for operators to run a trusted, sovereign Google Cloud region. The platform is operated end-to-end from within Europe by the joint venture between Thales and Google Cloud. You will work in a hybrid environment (3 office / 2 remote) in Bucharest, with occasional travel to Paris / Berlin.
Your job will involve building secure Linux system images (NixOS preferred), operating hardened admin environments, managing virtualization (VMware, KVM) and config at scale, automating VM image lifecycle, and securing access to platform resources.
This role is ideal for someone with 5+ years of experience in Systems / Platform / Infrastructure Engineering, strong Linux system admin skills, and experience with virtualization and security hardening practices.
