Job Description
The Pharmacy Intern is assisting Pharmacists in various tasks like preparing and distributing medications, completing unit dose tasks, and supporting other pharmacy functions. This role requires understanding basic pharmacy computer systems, medical terminology, and maintaining a safe environment.
Requirements
- Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist
- Prepare and distribute medications according to prescription or physician order
- Understand basic pharmacy computer systems (Epic RX, Compounding, check)
- Understand and communicate using basic medical terminology
- Select and prepare pharmaceutical products (IV admixtures, etc.)
- Perform I.V. order entry and verify orders
- Maintain pharmacy supplies and equipment
- Follow USP 797 guidelines
- Maintains a safe environment
