Job Description
The Pharmacy Intern position at PRN is a rotating three-4 year position. Interns will assist Pharmacists in all departments, focusing on preparations, distributions, compounding, and assisting with I.V. orders. A strong understanding of medical terminology and comping, as well as basic computer systems knowledge, is essential. The role involves performing tasks related to USP 797 compliance, inventory management, and patient safety.
Requirements
- Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, prepares and distributes medications.
- Composes and dispenses medications according to prescriptions or physician orders.
- Assists with unit dose, delivery, and other supply operations.
- Maintains a safe pharmacy environment and order accuracy.
- Operates automated dispensing machines and CDSS systems.
- Operates pneumatic tube stations.
