Job Description
The Globe and Mail is seeking an ambitious editor to manage the Ottawa bureau and lead our coverage of national politics. As Politics Editor, you'll be at the centre of our mission-driven journalism, driving a variety of coverage, from breaking news to enterprise reporting to profiles of Canada's most influential and interesting people.
Requirements
- Assign daily and long-term politics coverage
- Brainstorm ideas and angles for stories
- Edit stories in a variety of formats
- Directly manage a team of 5-10 reporters
- Advance planning for elections and other major news events
- Collaborate with reporters and editors across the newsroom
