Job Description
The New York Times is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their DevEx Platforms team within the New York Times Product Engineering. This role focuses on building tools to support GenAI-augmented developer experiences, contributing to the development platform, and demonstrating a commitment to journalistic independence. The position is hybrid, with work from home up to three days a week.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
- 2+ years of experience improving developer experience through workflows, documentation, and capabilities of the internal platform
- Experience designing and building cloud native applications using Golang
- Hands-on experience building software using GenAI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code)
- Experience with AWS and Kubernetes
