The Open University is seeking an Assistant Director, TAR (Wales) to provide academic and executive leadership for the TAR programme. The role will involve leading the work of designing, developing, reviewing and improving modules and the curriculum at programme level, and ensuring that the planning and delivery of the curriculum aligns with the Curriculum for Wales, SAC requirements, and Open University academic governance arrangements.
Requirements
- Provide academic leadership, oversee curriculum planning, partnership liaison, regulatory conformity, and teaching.
- Provide senior academic leadership across the TAR programme, supporting the Director in strategic development, programme leadership, and ongoing improvement.
- Take a leading role in the work of designing, developing, reviewing and improving modules and the curriculum at programme level, including new provision where required.
- Lead operational provision across all curriculum team roles, ensuring consistent high-quality performance across all programme pathways.
- Develop and Embed innovative, evidence-based approaches for teaching, learning, and assessment within the Open University’s AGA blended learning model and face-to-face learning.
- Assess the academic experience of students, ensuring consistency, quality, and validity in making decisions about assessment and progression.
- Contribute to widening participation, inclusivity, and better outcomes across diverse student groups.
