Seasonal Lifeguard

The Trustees is seeking a seasonal lifeguard to work at Crane Beach in Ipswich, Massachusetts. As a lifeguard, you will provide a safe environment to patrons at the beach and ensure that they follow posted rules and regulations. You will also be responsible for providing emergency care to patrons and maintaining safety equipment and supplies. The position is seasonal, running from May to September, and is approximately 16-40 hours per week.

Requirements

• Red Cross or YMCA lifeguard training
• Waterfront Certification recommended
• Current certifications in O2, CPR for the Professional rescuer, AED, and first responder First Aid
• Ability to maintain concentration for long periods of time
• Ability to interact with the public in a professional manner
• Ability to run one mile in a sandy environment
• Ability to swim one-quarter mile in ocean conditions
