The Department of Civil Engineering at The University of Akron invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track Assistant Professor of Practice in Construction Engineering Technology, beginning August 2026.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering Technology or a closely related discipline from a nationally recognized institution
- A master’s degree in construction engineering, civil engineering, construction management, or a closely related field is required.
- Significant professional experience in the construction industry.
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensure, or the ability to obtain licensure within one year of appointment.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCM, LEED AP, or related credentials).
- Ten (10) or more years of progressive industry experience in project execution and leadership roles within the construction sector.
- Well-networked within the Northeast Ohio construction industry.
- Experience with construction practice competitions and advising student competition teams
