Job Description
Field Installation Pipefitter responsible for installing piping, fittings, and system equipment, with fluency in reading and interpreting plumbing schematics and detail drawings, and experience with PVC, CPVC, black steel, and stainless-steel plumbing materials.
Requirements
- Read and understand schematics and detail drawings for layout, installation and troubleshooting
- Read and do layout with tape measures, levels, square, dividers, rule, plumb bob, string lines, etc.
- Common cutting tools such as the band saw, cut off saw, hand plasma torch, tubing cutter, saws-all, hole saw, drill, etc.
- Cut pipe threads with hand and electric powered pipe thread cutting tools
- Use hand tools to assemble pipe
- Safe use of powered lifts and ladders
- Proper use of pipe cement, pipe thread compound, sealing tape etc.
- Identify and correct improper operation of installed plumbing systems
